On May 1st, 2007, a rally calling for US citizenship for undocumented immigrants took place in MacArthur Park in Los Angeles. The peaceful protest was disrupted as the LAPD (in full riot gear) stormed the park, beating immigrants, supporters, and journalists and shooting the crowd with tear gas and rubber bullets.
